Announcing the 2012 Bugeater GT

Friends, Romans, Countrymen (and women), we are pleased to announce the dates for the 2012 Bugeater GT.  We are moving it a few weekends early to get off the College World Series, so next year it will be June 1st through 3rd, 2012.  It will again be hosted at Millard West High School, and we will be providing a group rate at the West Omaha Hilton Garden Inn.

We will again offer a 2 day GT for both Warhammer Fantasy and Warhammer 40k, and anticipate more numbers this year than last.  We will again follow the NOVA format for our tournament with our Sweepstakes Champion (commonly known as a “Best Overall”),  and our Tournament Champion (commonly known as a “Best General”) getting equal prize support and prestige.

We have gotten a lot of feedback from our 1st year event, and plan on making some changes to make the event even more appealing to all kinds of gamers.  We plan on expanding our competitions for model work (converting, painting, etc.) to a style that will look more like a Golden Demon event than a supplemental event that is tacked onto the GT.  We plan on adjusting the schedule to make it friendlier to out of town travelers and cut down on down time between rounds.

We plan on sticking with what was popular last year as well – using the tiered mission style for 40k missions, providing as many prizes between rounds as possible, and having stocked swag bags for all who come to play.

There are many thing still up in the air, and we will continue to announce details as they become available.  But we do anticipate a higher turn out in our second year, and we are initially offering 64 40k spots and 48 fantasy spots.  Because we expect a high turnout, you can pre-register for the tournament.  There is NO cost to pre-register, and NO commitment.  When we do open up ticket sales, those that pre-register get first pick of spots for an extended period of time.

If you feel you will be coming, we ask that you pre-register – if we have high pre-registration numbers we can secure even more sponsors and prize support than last year!  We look forward to seeing you this coming June, and we will post primer packets and other information starting this coming fall.
